A-X

Stream launches A-X, a new public art project which gives voice to the residents of East Greenwich and the Peninsula through a poetic and witty intervention in the local landscape.

Over the past three months artists gethan&myles have worked with hundreds of people of all ages in East Greenwich and the Peninsula, inviting them to playfully reflect and muse upon the area. Their words - beautiful, sad, uplifting and funny – will now be displayed on a pair of solar powered dot-matrix LED roadsigns in three different locations throughout the month of June.

East Greenwich Pleasaunce, Chevening Rd (off Woolwich Rd) 3-10 June
East Greenwich Jetty (just south of the O2), 10-17 June
Central Park (by The Pilot Inn, River Way, off West Parkside) 17-24 June

Dot to Dot, Central Park, Saturday 19 June, 2-5pm
For one afternoon only, the two signs will become gameshow hosts as they emit a series of clues and instructions in an exciting interactive game. Using a specially created art-map, players will be encouraged to explore and re-examine both the familiar and the unexpected sights of the Peninsula, with a chance to win some great prizes. This is a free event, suitable for all ages and abilities.
