Participants

Stream invites people to participate in a broad range of projects, from one to one encounters and exchanges with artists to skills based workshops and participation in public performances and events.

We work in partnership with the voluntary and statutory sectors to deliver structured creative programmes which work with children and young people in youth, community and education settings. Participants may be referred to us via other agencies such as Connexions, Youth Offending and Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET) teams. We locate projects in youth clubs, housing estates, after school clubs and wherever seems appropriate to the children and young people involved. We work with schools to provide new creative opportunities which support a range of curriculum objectives.

Adults engage with our projects both individually and as part of small or larger groups. Individuals have worked with artists to produce a film on the Walpole Estate, a gps audio walk on the Greenwich Peninsula and an interactive website. Involvement may be both personal and intimate or social and connected to a participant's interests. Small groups of residents have worked with artists to produce a web archive of local history, to contribute to a living environmental sculpture and to create an emotion map of their area.

Older people have participated in creative projects based in a sheltered housing scheme, on a one to one basis in their homes and out in the community.
